GREAT NEWS! SWORK VOTED SECOND BEST COFFEEHOUSE IN ALL OF LOS
ANGELES!
Last night at 6:30 p.m. on KCal 9's "9 On the Town" segment, Eagle
Rock's own Swork Coffee was rated No. 2 out of the top nine coffee houses in
all of Los Angeles! Swork was bested only by the Urth Cafe in Beverly
Hills. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a very popular coffeehouse, was
rated sixth. You-know-who wasn't even listed.
A hearty congratulations to Tricia Neal, Eagle Rock's coffeehouse visionary
and owner of Swork! Trish took a huge risk when she set up shop here
in Eagle Rock about five years ago when the only coffee to be had wasn't much
to speak of. Her quality product, her first-rate design sense, and her
business acumen brought real class to a town that was dying for positive change
and new shopping venues that would keep us Eagle Rockers from having to shop elsewhere.
And look what's happened since! Our business district has blossomed and
now offers many desirable destinations to hang out and eat, self-caffeinate,
and shop, so we no longer need to depend on Pasadena or Glendale for such
things. For more great eating/shopping venues, come to our Block Party
this Saturday -- see item No. 2, below.
